This beginner-friendly class is designed to introduce you to the essentials of embroidery, from selecting materials to mastering fundamental stitches. In this inspiring workshop, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to create your own beautiful heirlooms and works of art. Select from a variety of patterns to design your own custom cotton tote. Step by step, we’ll cover stitches such as the split stitch, running stitch, and the ever-charming French knot. New patterns inspired by the early days of spring will be available for use, exclusively for this workshop at Be Free Creations!

Hosted by Art Coach and Teaching Artist Jenny Santa Maria, this workshop combines expert guidance with a warm, supportive atmosphere, making it the perfect introduction to this timeless craft. With years of teaching experience and a passion for empowering creativity, Jenny ensures that participants leave not only with new skills but also with the inspiration to continue their artistic journey.
Jenny have been teaching folk art traditions to a wide audience in diverse settings since 2008. Over the years, she's collaborated with dozens of libraries, galleries, art centers, garden centers, and museums along the East Coast, including the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center in Vermont, Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, the Newport Art Museum in Rhode Island, the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in Wappingers Falls, NY, and the Center for Contemporary Art in Hudson Valley. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Jersey Shore Magazine
