Learn beginner metalsmithing techniques using a butane torch, a safe + accessible way to start your jewelry making journey. Our instructor Christina will be teaching you how to forge a simple and versatile stack of five rings in sterling silver. You’ll learn about metal properties, soldering, hammering + work hardening techniques, how to size your rings, as well as learning how to set three semi precious cabochon gemstones of your choice. You’ll come away with a set of five rings, two plain bands and three gemstone rings made by you!

Skills Covered: differences between fine metal and its properties, metal forming techniques, ring sizing and mandrel use, hammering metals, butane torch soldering, gemstone setting. This is an Adult class, students must be at least 18+ years old (16+ with an accompanying adult).

Prerequisite: None, this is a great introduction to beginner metalsmithing techniques.

Materials Provided: All materials will be provided for you. Metals are iron + nickel free.
